Typical Certified Laughter Yoga Leader Workshop Agenda

Total Contact Hours: 10 hours

There is a lot of ground to cover and 10 hours simply aren't enough time to do it. We know how to adapt and as such each training differs in that it meets the particular needs and interests of the participants. Whichever you attend know that you will gain a solid and comprehensive foundation in Laughter Yoga.

We start on time and do our best to finish on time as well.

Expect to go home light-headed on both Day One and Day Two with your head buzzing with many new ideas you can implement right away in your life!

Day One: 9am - 5pm

  • 8:30-9am: Informal Gathering, Sign-in

  • 9-9:20am:
    - Welcome
    - Review of Learning Objectives

  • 9:20-10:30am:
    - group Laughter Yoga session
    - laughter meditation
    - group debrief: what it all meant

  • 10:30-10:45: Break

  • 10:45am-12:30pm:
    - Introductions + setting of intentions
    - Laughter Yoga 101:
    • What: concept and philosphy
    • Why: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual benefits + contra indications
    • Who: smaller and greater history of Laughter Yoga, a story of courage and perseverance
    • How: core method explained, 5 key reminders
    - Group practice

  • 12:30pm-2pm: Lunch

  • 2pm-3:30pm: How it works
          * Clapping and Breathing exercises
          * Foundational Laughter Yoga exercises
          * How to create your own laughter exercises
          * 5 pilars of a powerful laughter session

  • 3:30-3:45pm: Break

  • 3:45-4:15pm: Laughter Practice in small groups

  • 4:15-5pm:
    - Debrief, Q&A
    - The Laughter Meditation
    - Grounding Techniques
    - Review of Day 1
    - Appreciation Circle

Day Two: 9am - 4pm

    - Sharing of experience
    - Day one Q&A

  • 9:15-10:30am:
    - More clapping and breathing exercises
    - Small group practice: leading a Laughter Yoga session
    - Laughter meditation

    • Focus on playful behaviors (engage in playful movements to help dissolve inhibitions)
    • Focus on a physical workout
      • Aerobic training
      • Balance and mobility training
      • Flexibility training / Range Of Motion
      • Resistance / Strength training
      • Improving Lung capacity
    • Special techniques
      • Call and response
      • Cross-Brain exercises (neurobics)
      • Dancing & Singing exercises
      • Empowering behaviors
      • Empowering conversations
      • Floor exercises
      • Group games
      • Laughter and Ideokinesis
      • Laughing alone
      • Laughter meditation
    • 20 basic variations for any given laughter exercise: Age / Gender / Coordination / Denture / Dexterity / Distance / Eyesight / Funny associations / “Make it more interesting” / Mood / Size / Smell / Social groups at different times in history / Sound / Speed / Style / Taste / Using different body parts / Using different objects / Weight.
