Bring your own food and have a picnic on the lawn at Belvedere park!
11:30 – 12:30pm: Maetar In Concert
Maetar have won awards and critical acclaim for their fusion, funky jazz
grooves for peace and enlightenment. Their innovative brass, haunting
melodic horns, concha shells, the shofar, flutes and hard swinging funky
drums bring exuberant joy that pervades all the music these amazing musicians
create.
12:30 – 1:00pm: Taiko Drummers
This year’s World Laughter Day Celebration in Los Angeles will start
in style with the powerful, spellbinding and propulsive sounds of the
taiko drums. The drum is the flame of a musical spirit that began in ancient
time when people gathered in community. They danced and drummed to uplift
their spirit and celebrate life.
1:00 – 1:30pm: Grand Opening
Group Laughter Session. Get ready to exercise your laughter muscles and
enjoy the liberating and empowering effect that proves laughter is the
best medicine!
1:30 – 2:45pm: Laughter Competitions
All are welcome to compete for the prestigious title of
All you have to do is volunteer to come on stage and share your best laugh with us. The winners will be selected by round of applause for their most natural, infectious, warm-hearted laughter.
2:45– 3:00pm: Laugh Angeles 2007 Humanitarian Awards + Close Of Event
3:00– 4:00pm: Musical Concert with Scott Huckabay
Scott Huckabay is an award-winning artist whose performances are powerfully
electrifying. Using a violin bow, an E-bow, percussion stylings and other
effects, he creates a mystical musical landscape that is so multitextured,
vast and breathtaking, it is unimaginable that this music could be created
by one man and his guitar.
